TechCrunch’s annual event in Silicon Valley is the most popular tech event of the year as well as an extraordinary showcase of the hottest new startups.  Etchstar was invited to participate and offered custom laser engraving to guests during the party.  We laser etched the new 3G iPhone of TechCrunch founder and editor in chief Michael Arrington; we met the rapper Chamillioinaire and compared gold iPods; and we got to hang out with writer Sarah Lacy, blogger Shira Lazar and social media oracle Brian Solis at a champagne soaked after party. All in all, it was a great night to reconnect with our favorite Valley peeps and meet new ones.

100% of the ticket proceeds from the Meet-Up were donated to Malaria No More, a grassroots movement to control this totally preventable and treatable disease that kills more than one million people each year. The $10 price of the ticket is the same as the cost of an insecticide treated bed net that can protect a child or several children from malaria for up to five years.

Check out the entire collection of pix from TCAugust2008 on Flickr. We laser etched and engraved tons of new iPhones, old iPhones, Blackberries, a couple laptops and even a California driver’s license. Enjoy!
